Happy Sunday, friend!
It’s been a minute! I missed you all. These past couple of weeks have been beautiful and hard, and I’m glad to be cozy on my couch with hot coffee, writing to you.
Since the last weekender, we hosted a luau for our sweet Adaline’s birthday, watched a monarch emerge from its chrysalis, and said goodbye to my dear grandma Jan. Reflecting on the creative and beautiful moments in my days helps, because sometimes I need the reminders.
So today I’m sharing my favorite finds from The Found Cottage Market, some cute fall fits, and what’s been on my easel!
WHAT I’M LOVING
A little recap of my trip to The Found Cottage Mercantile Market! If you love antiques, home decor, fashion, and a little chaos, you would have had the best time. So many booths were filled with beautifully curated vintage pieces. It’s probably not the place to hunt for a bargain, but it is a lovely place to find something special.
Green was everywhere. I love every shade of green, especially the ones other people might call a little sickly looking. So I was electric.
A few other things you’ll see in the photos: hunting scenes and dogs, ducks and plaid, brass trinkets, rich burgundy, and the most wonderful granny quilts. I didn’t find a quilted vest that checked every box, but I loved looking at the artistry in them.
I did bring home an old green cabinet, which my husband says looks like somebody’s grandpa made it for his garage. I took that as a compliment. I also found vintage framed embroidery, artwork, a dish with oranges on it, and an adorable yellow watering can.
Every time I walked away from a booth, I wondered if I’d just left the best thing there. There’s a seafoam blue armchair I’m still thinking about. Until the next find!

What I’m Wearing
THERE IS FINALLY A CHILL IN THE AIR! You know what that means? The best fashion of the year. We’re talking layers, coats, boots, and jeans, baby.
Next week, I’m sharing my favorite color pairings for fall and the fashion finds I’m excited to wear. For now, here’s a peek at the cardigan sweater I can’t stop wearing. At least until I start sweating.

WHAT I’M creating
I had the honor of painting this 8x10 portrait of a friend and her sweet children. Her husband commissioned it from photos, and we added their birth month flowers around the border to make it extra personal. Ashley is incredibly kind and thoughtful, so I tried to capture her personality in the colors and softness.
Learning to paint people with watercolor has been VERY HARD, especially faces on a smaller scale. Seeing how much I’ve grown as a painter, while still letting the watercolor shine through, has been so encouraging.

If seeing what I’ve been painting makes you want to pick up a brush, I have a watercolor workshop coming up! We’ll paint a floral pumpkin arrangement together on Oct. 8th form 6-8, at The Flower Cart Lady in Converse, Indiana.
Beginners are welcome, and supplies and light snacks are provided. I’d love to have you there!
We start with a pre-drawn image, and then I walk the class through the basics of watercolor and how it works, where we begin our painting from light to dark.
